 In may 2007, for the very first time an international forum gathering all the bike repair collectives from all known galaxies was organised in Rome.

This gathering aimed to exchange ideas, knowledge, and to promote all non-polluting transports including all the alternatives associated with this: anti-consumerism, recycling and voluntary simplicity among other things.

This forum, unique in its kind just for its theme, the alternative bike, is a perfect opportunity to create contacts and networks between cyclo-activists coming from many different places (Spain, Belgium, Italy, France, England).

During the days of debate the delegates of the Rome bike forum 2007 agreed on the fact that the Bike forum could, to keep evolving, become a wandering rendez-vous. It was also said that  one of its goals would be to make people discover the city and the comittee organising the annual meeting.

Velorution Toulouse participated in the creation of the Roma bike forum 2007, and the vibrant communal activities meant that many contacts and bonds were made, leading to the creation of the intergalactic network of urban cyclist (well, only European for the moment).

Velorution Toulouse invites you to a three day weekend, the 13th, 14th and 15th of June 2008, which will take place the two velorutionary workshops in the pink city (Toulouse): Mix Art Myrys and the locale of the associative Paul at the University Paul Sabatier.

The weekends activities will be:

* creation workshops
* debates, viewings of films, expositions on the bike and other machines motored by animal traction!
* Games: alley cat races, slowness races, agility demonstrations
* Critical masses on demand and cooling swims to combat the summer heat!

In the evenings:
* concerts, food, rest

The schedule is far from being written in stone, as we would like all of the participants to add and participate in creating it. Our aim is not to run or to manage this forum, but we simply want the forum to happen in the best possible conditions for the enjoyment of the participants.

So please come! And share your experiences, dreams, knowledge, projects with others. We are going to leave a list open, so as to have an idea of how many people are going to come and so we can try and meet the needs of everybody. The list will be closed 8 days before the start of the forum, so please sign up before then! A small financial participation will be required as well as help with the different chores that will inevitably need doing (washing-up, cooking, taking care of tools etc...)

Click This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it to tell us who, when, how many people are coming, if you are bringing tools/stuff and don't you forget to tell us about your eventual impeachment in bringing your bicycles too!
